Well, here we are. Just one day to go until my daily blogging of Blogmas 2018 comes to an end and to be honest with you, I can’t believe I have managed to come this far.
This was my first ever Blogmas to daily blog what will be 24 days in a row, I got a taster for it last year as I decided to opt for the weekly posts, coming up with a different festive themed blog post for each week. I didn’t exactly have the time or energy to be daily blogging last year and I thought finding inspiration for a weekly post was tough, well boy, was I wrong! Now I can see that was a doddle compared to the work I committed myself to this year.
For personal reasons, my blog’s content ceased to exist for the months of September, October and November and while I thought about participating in Blogmas back in August (you can never be too prepared) I said I would throw caution to the wind and restart my blog for 24 days in December. Was it a crazy idea? Absolutely! But it’s been so much more enjoyable than I could even have imagined and now that I found my blogging rhythm, I wonder why I ever stressed about it in the beginning. It’s forced me out of my creative rut, and the ideas started to flow, in fact, I can’t remember when I felt this creative last and it’s made my way of writing and ideas come much more easier to me.
Sure, the writing and editing that was done day in and day out while balancing daily life was a little bit taxing at times, but with a mix of lighthearted and meaningful posts, I was set a challenge and I wanted to prove to myself that I could do it and what do you know, I have!
If you’re thinking about doing Blogmas or Vlogmas next year then go for it, it takes a lot a patience and a bit of time but you could be even more organised than I was and prepare content ahead of time. I, on the other hand, will be going for a lie down and planning not to be anywhere near my computer for the rest of December. 😂
