Beauty Review – bBold Smart Mousse

*I would like to stress that I am not being paid to write about these products, I was not given the products for free, nor is this a sponsored post. I feel like in the current climate of misleading information online, it is important to address but I am just a little blogger doing her own thing.*

It takes a pretty stand out product to urge me on to write a beauty review. I need to really love and believe in a product or brand before I boast about them online. Today is the exception, and I am genuinely excited to write about the smart mousse from bBold.

The bBold brand is fast becoming a regular tried and tested product range for me and in the past I have wrote about their tan lotion and how much of a tan obsessive it made me. Not an easy feat!

This post, however, is about their smart mousse and all that it claims to offer. Like I previously mentioned, their tan lotion was a product I really enjoyed using but the time duration for that to develop and dry is – like many fake tans – 8 hours, and that’s where the smart mousse really comes in.

There’s 3 simple steps to take with the smart mousse, apply, shower and develop. The minimum amount of time you have to wait before showering is one hour which is more than achievable, then, depending on the strength of shade you want from this tan, you wait a further 2-3 hours before showering. The aim of this tan is to continue developing for up to 8 hours after showering while leaving you feeling fresh and almost as if you aren’t wearing fake tan at all.

*It’s worth noting that the pictures you are about to see are completely filter free and true to life so that you can get a feel for what the product actually does.

Here is my natural pale self before applying the smart mousse for you to compare with the final product.

This is the colour I was left with directly after applying the tan. Already a huge difference, as you can tell!

As I am so naturally pale, I opted for leaving on the tan one hour before showering, I personally felt that it would be more subtle and suited to my skin tone and I was more than happy with the result. This is the exact glow I was left with just one hour after applying and having had a shower. It’s a very pretty bronze, in my opinion.

Lastly, is the photographic evidence of the beautifully subtle glow I was left with the next morning.

The one thing I would like to add is that while you are showering – especially after waiting one hour – the excess tan does tend to run straight off so don’t freak out and think it won’t stay on because it will, just make sure to rinse down your shower or bath so that it doesn’t stick, but to me, the smart mousse is a real winner.

It stands up to it’s claim of developing even after showering, there is no apparent smell upon application nor is there in the hours after applying and showering, you certainly don’t have to wait around too long for it to dry and although you do feel it on your skin directly after applying that leaves you straight after showering and you continue to feel as fresh as a daisy. If that wasn’t enough, it lasts up to 7 days and retails for around €14.

To conclude on my opinion of the smart mousse, I think I can confidently say that it is definitely my new go to for tan!

What are your essentials for fake tan? Have you tried the smart mousse or any other tanning product from the bBold range? If so, let me know in the comments below ❤

    1. I never chance getting a natural tan, I lather in suncream and stick by my motto of “Fake it, don’t bake” 😂

This is a great self tanner though, it’s so easy to apply! They are a UK/Ireland based company but you could try looking online x
