Welcome back to my second Festival themed Throwback Thursday. This week I am writing about last year’s Cut Loose Country Music Festival.
The Cut Loose Festival is a music event that annually takes place on the 3rd Sunday in July, where a local GAA pitch in my little county of Tipperary gets transformed into a country music haven complete with a main stage and large dance floor for all your jiving needs!
It’s a festival that I have been attending for the past three years and one I always look forward to rolling around. Whether you are country music fan or not there’s no denying the fun and enjoyable atmosphere surrounding the day. The field is full of happy concert goers out to enjoy the music and a spot of dancing too. It’s very much a family friendly event, which is always nice.
Performing on the day were Robert Mizzell, Michael English, Mike Denver, Lisa McHugh and headlining act Nathan Carter. All of which sound just as well live as on their recordings. There was also a surprise guest in the form of Mr. Daniel O’Donnell who stopped off at the festival with his wife Majella as they were filming for their TV show Daniel and Majella’s B&B roadtrip. A show I actually managed to get my face on just by being in the front row. haha
As you can imagine that place up roared at the thoughts of having both Daniel and Nathan singing together onstage, it really added to the day.
Of course I nabbed a selfie with the man himself! I just managed to get one as he hopped off stage after finishing the set, that really brought the whole day together.
At 20euro a ticket for 6 hours of music, you can’t beat the value or entertainment of this unique festival.
This year’s Cut Loose Festival takes place on July 24th in it’s usual home of Holycross GAA pitch, Co.Tipperary.
